Held every Father’s Day weekend and provides the community with many recreational events that are held in conjunction with the Alumni Banquet. This year’s event will be June 15-17, 2018 and include the SMOKE n CHROME on MAIN car show on June 16th, Downtown sales events, the Alumni Banquet, and a Dance to raise funds for the Alumni Scholarship fund!

SMOKE n CHROME on MAIN
This Annual Show & Shine Event, sponsored by Cornerstone Bank - Albion, Albion Thrifty-Way, Schalk Auto Inc., Rex Mahoney/Stock Realty & Auction Co., and Zoucha Hay Grinding, Inc. is held on Saturday of Father's Day Weekend from 10am to 3pm. Many come downtown and see all the rides and bikes! Free will donations are raised to help fund area causes.

Annual Independence Day Kiddie Parade
Held the morning of July 4th each year, this patriotic-themed kids parade brings many families to downtown Albion for fun, patriotism, and community spirit!

The Albion Chamber of Commerce to present the fifth annual Rhythm & Ribs BBQ Competition and Concert.
8:00am - Gate opens & registration for BBQ Competition, Music all day!
10:00am - Beer garden opens.
12:00pm - Food sampling & People's Choice Judging begins.
5:00pm - Rib Judging; 6:00pm - Ribs served
Live Music in the Evening
All day event open to all ages!!
Adults - $15; ages 10-5 $5; under 5 free. (Gate admission includes all food - people's choice tasting starts at 12:00pm and ribs at 6:00pm. Concession stand beverages and beer garden drinks available for sale all day.)

Albion Speedway
“THE ACTION TRACK!”, presents racing action at its finest every Friday night from May to September. Weekly racing shows boast four classes – Hobby Stock, Street Stock, IMCA Modified, and Limited Late Model – and is a regular stop for traveling Sprint Car, Special Late Model, and WDRL Late Model series. Located at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Albion, the Boone County Raceway was featured in Dirt Late Model Magazine as “the Best Little Track You’ve Never Seen” and has a National reputation for track preparation, providing a family-friendly atmosphere, and downright old-school dirt track racing action!

Olson Nature Preserve
Dedicated to preservation of native prairie, this preserve has hiking trails along with abundant native flora and fauna. Its unique characteristics are derived from being a junction of multiple ecosystems. It lies at the easternmost tip of the sandhills and includes more than a half-mile stretch of Beaver Creek, a perennial spring-fed stream that forms the geological boundary between the sandhills and the rolling loess hardlands to the east. It is also historically significant as the site where Logan Fontenelle, a chief of the Omaha people, died at the hands of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. Crazy Horse was about 15 years old and a member of the Sioux war party. The Olson Nature Preserve is truly a unique little corner of the world! Tucked into an area of approximately 140 acres, several interesting ecosystems invite further exploration. The eastern edge of the Nebraska sandhills, complete with characteristic blowouts and gullies, comprise the western edge of the Preserve. A bur oak grove, clinging to the steep slope borders the eastern edge of the sand hills. A person may observe typical prairie plants on the hot, dry sand hills and walk just 100 meters or so and be viewing ferns growing in the moist, cool forest. Area residents enjoy family picnics and gatherings at Albion's Fuller Park where there are four large shelters available for your enjoyment. After the picnic, the whole family can enjoy the basketball courts, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, swimming pool, and playground equipment. Rest rooms and RV hookups are also available.

The Albion Family Aquatic Center

also located at Fuller Park, is open Monday-Saturday 1pm to 7pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm from Early May to Mid-August. Plan your next family outing in Albion!

Albion Sports Complex
In the Northwest part of Albion includes four ball diamonds, soccer fields, and a concession stand. A New Multipurpose Court including a tennis court, a pickle ball court, and two half-court basketball courts ne in June 2017!

Camp Grounds
Clean and conveniently located, the City of Albion campgrounds currently have twenty-six (26) sites with full Electricity, Water, and Sewer hook-ups. Free WiFi. A satellite sewer dump and clean-out station is also available on the grounds. There are also clean rest rooms and showers located adjacent to the site.

Handicap accessible with an elevator lift, contains over 16,000 volumes and has an average annual circulation of 26,000. The computerized library has cassettes, audio books, a micro-film reader­printer, and eight computers with Internet access. Library activities include a children's reading group as well as a teen center. Local organizations have established a designated area within the library for a resource center. The center houses resource materials and computer equipment to be used by entrepreneurs and others interested in starting small businesses.

In June the Quarter Horse Show takes center stage and in July the annual Boone County Fair and Rodeo is always worth attending. Albion offers many wholesome and fun activities to keep the whole family entertained.

BRAN (Bike Ride Across Nebraska)

Albion hosted several hundred BRAN participants on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Boone County Fairgrounds and Fuller Park. BRAN is a charitable Nebraska non-profit corporation whose main intent is to provide a fun, safe way for participants to experience the great state of Nebraska, but also uses its excess revenues to provide scholarships to Nebraska high school graduates to Nebraska Colleges and Universities. This marks the 30th year of the event and this year's theme is "SPACE COWBOY." Albion was voted the "BEST HOST COMMUNITY" by riders in 2010!
